On 17th December, the government announced that the Sedgemoor and Mendip districts would remain in Tier 2 for the latest coronavirus restrictions which had taken originally effect on 2nd December. However they warn that the national situation is getting progressively worse and there may be changes to the tier system if the situation does not improve.

Acting on this information, the Management Committee have decided that it would not be possible to re-open the hall on 4th January 2021.

However, it is hoped that the next government announcement due in early January may reveal that the number of coronavirus cases has fallen and this may result in restrictions being eased further which then may hopefully allow the hall to re-open from mid-January 2021.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to our regular hirers by this decision and the effect it will have on their members.

Should there be any significant change to the government guidance which may affect the long term, our Booking Secretary will advise regular hirers by email.

Update on changes to the upstairs room - our builders are currently on site making changes to the upstairs room which when completed will give the hall more hiring capacity. We hope that the alterations will be finished by the time the hall re-opens.

May we take this opportunity to wish all our groups and their members, a very merry Christmas and a happy new year, we hope that 2021 will be better for everyone than 2020 has been.
